Happy New Year to all my friends..!!!!
I GOT AN IPOD!!! YEEEEHAWWWWW!!
My wife rocks....nuff said.
Other than that, we got a great printer/scanner combo, some awesome lawn furniture from my family. Bills merchandise, nice headset for the IPOD (as I can't use earbuds) and best of all I got to spend it with my family as a whole. My oldest brother came to town with the Utah clan--I love those kids!
As you may have noticed the last 2 posts are not my usual fare...
I have taken a volunteer position blogging for the Democrat & Chronicle for my town.
Should be really interesting. It'll get me out more and get me more involved.
Hello friends....
I wanted to quickly talk about CountryMax in Suburban Plaza on East Henrietta Road.
They carry farm materials, dog food, pet toys and other pet supplies along with a multitude of other stuff. The prices are comparable, if not slightly better than Lori's Natural Foods.
The Manager, Jeff Walker, has a great staff who really help out and will carry items to your car.
He was even willing, recently, to consider when I suggested an item he could sell that would most likely bring in more dog owners, a special chewy called Jones Chews.
Accessible to wheelchairs with wide aisles....
Suz and I went to Red Robin on Jefferson Road today for lunch today.
Lots of Handicap parking which was nice.
The food was outstanding. I had the Gourmet Cheeseburger w/ American Cheese and she had the Shroomburger. We were very pleased-large pieces of meat and lots of the extras (onions, etc).
They have lots of specialty drinks (mostly alcoholic). My wife enjoyed her Bailey's Milkshake.
The atmosphere is a little loud for conversation but reasonable.
The waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. Glasses did not go empty for long. Our waitress commented on my Christmas Buffalo Bill's hat and asked my wife where she could get one.
All in all, the food was worth the price ($26 + tip) and I highly recommend a visit.
A nice new addition to our town.
Here in Henrietta, we have a diner, but it is not one is considered a "greasy spoon" or is overpopular with enormous lines for seating.
I'm talking about Jay's Diner on West Henrietta Rd across from Movies 10. In a recently renovated structure, Jay's Diner continues the long-time tradition of 24-Hour Dining. We go almost every weekend for Saturday or Sunday Brunch. Our favorite waitress, Stacy, never fails to remember our usual orders and loves to joke with us. One of the owner's or their adult-children, Dino, John or Christine, are always out at the Desk greeting people (if not cooking or serving). You are always greeted with a smile and a "How are you?" and it's nice to have that feeling like they are an old friend.
Its the same whether you are a family with children or a student who comes in at 2am looking for a little bit of solitude from the madness known as Final Exams.
I encourage you to visit if you never have, or re-experience the pleasure of a restaurant that is, quite simply, a nice place to eat.
Ok....at home...going to work by 8...
Had to take a half day. Was going into the bathroom to do the morning duties and my chair died (as in no moving, no way, no how) about 2 feet from the toilet. Could get on the floor, but could not crawl around my chair to get out of the bathroom. Had to call into work for a 1/2 day then call my parents to rescue me.
Yes Fran you can start laughing now...I trapped myself in my new bathroom.
Fun fun....
Too much going on...
1) Finally got the permit for the real ramp to be built off the back of the house. Submitted plans the day after the Congressional vote. They stuck it to another one by mistake and lost it.... $85 and some slightly animated phone calls later, the permit is on our kitchen table (soon to be in the front window as required).
2) Weather-winter arrives tonight....dropping temps, 40mph winds..flurries...bleh
3) This Russian spy thing - wow. Pretty interesting to watch how this goes. One of the few things the Drudge Report is good for...
4) Football--Bills beat Jacksonville but next up is San Diego....this one we'll eat as a loss. They're too good.
5) Xmas letters-done and mailed.
Life goes on.
