Quiet weekend...sick of the rain. I really need a few rain-free days.
Siding is almost completely....can't wait. Then after the Holidays we begin work inside the house. New bathroom coming.
Pups doing good...today was quiet day for them. I was in bliss.

We had our housewarming party Sunday...40 ppl showed up. We specifically said "No Presents" but we got some nice bottles of wine.
Pastor Ken blessed our home and a good time was had by all.

I attended the funeral service of Lieutenant James Lyons, US Army, on Saturday.
I was stunned and in awe of the service in general and then the military honors. Upon coming out of the church, the sides of the street were lined with bikers and other people holding up U.S. flags and other signs of respect.
As much as funerals generally suck, this one truly made you proud to be not only an American but to live in Rochester

Lt James Lyons, a member of a local fire department (of whom our Pastor is the Chaplain) was killed in Iraq.
This group is going to protest his funeral. Their belief is that soldier's deaths are "divine retribution for gays living"...
OMG...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! I am imminently disgusted by this and may go to the funeral to support the family

Local Rep. Tom Reynolds said he went to House Speaker Dennis Hastert about the Foley underage-IM scandal....yet he denies receiving any specifics, saying (quoting various CNN postings) that the family asked him to leave it alone.
Here's the fact about pedophiles that is well-documented: It's never only 1 victim.
The Republican House Leadership has once again failed, and it is the ultimate responsibility of Dennis Hastert and President George Bush-the Leadership of the Republican party as to why this never got addressed. This sick scumbag was making overt adult gestures (ABC noted some 56 separate IM's) to underage pages and it was simply blown off.
