...disgusts me...completely.
As a heterosexual married man, I am biased-however I am open to other ideas. Ok, the whole world does not agree or even want to acknowledge that homosexuality exists-fine. People can have their personal opinions.
But it is WRONG for a sitting President (or a legislature for that matter) to dictate who can/cannot get married. I have seen gay couples who treat each other a lot better than a lot of straight couples I know. This is an idea of respect for people.
But no...once again Governor Bush is imposing his religious and personal views in a way that will be a major change in American Domestic Policy. If he does this..what else will he feel empowered to push for???? Whats next??
Well we went and saw the breeder Saturday afternoon.
Her 2 dogs are just beautiful. The Daddy Dog's name was Tramp and he looks like this.
The Mommy Dog's name was Lady and looks like the bottom picture on this post.
GORGEOUS, obviously well-trained and very friendly dogs. They both took to Suz and me quickly. When I got out my wheelchair to play with them, Tramp jumped on me and knocked me over and gave me a lick-bath.
So we signed contracts...then I started coughing out of nowhere..real wheezy...out of the blue the woman says, "Oh yeah I have 7 cats downstairs" and on cue we hear a kitten mewing. I'm severely allergic to cats so we bolted pretty quickly but my reaction would've clearly been worse if I had touched one.
Birthing date looks to be March 9th with 3 females & 1 male puppy. We'll get her the week of my Birthday May 10th.
Ok...puppies after the News...
Tonight was the end of Sex & The City as we know it. Fran & Beck & Suz & I smell a movie in the works...:) I won't spoil the ending but the writers wrapped up the series extremely well tying up all the loose ends...was it sad? Yes..we cried (I sniffed). Will it be missed??? Abso-fucking-lutely!
SOPRANOS STARTS IN 2 WEEKS!!!!!
Six Feet Under returns in June
Went to church this morning-getting lots of raves for the church site..lots more to do on it though.
...that a person I keep hearing about...not a blogger...is constantly complaining about her life. She has a child who is never seen with her yet is constantly talking about her-as if she's this ultra-caring mother-suspect the parents do more child-raising. Yet she is constantly out drinking til dawn and using drugs (strongly suspected based on my past Chemical Dependency Counseling training) and God knows what else. Back to my original thought, she is constantly complaining about being a "victim" and how none of this is her fault.
I'm amazed she keeps her job.
Let me tell ya something friend...you chose to have unprotected sex with the child's father (you have never said you were raped)...you choose to continue this party lifestyle...you continue to be pretty much a non-participatory parent. If you continue this path of self-destruction, don't whine to me...I don't want to hear it. You have chosen your path but at 21 you are young enough to change it before the damage is made worse then it is.
Well..Nascar is on! Dale Earnhardt Jr won the Daytona 500...we had our annual lil soiree with Suz's friend Kim and her clan. Gotta wonder if I had that much energy as a child...kinda scary.
Suz and I have now scanned 176 of our wedding pics in so I can burn them and we can take them to Wegman's for some prints.
For those playing the home game and receive an unknown email from me-spam or virus-I have scanned my systems completely and am not doing this. It's spoofed somehow.
Ok...van's front brakes have been lightly grinding for 2-3 days now but only when I came home late at night..I figured it was ice buildup. Last night was really loud and got me really uncomfortable.
Put myself out at 1am...autoshop returned my message at 9am and woke me up. Bolted up there. Both Front Brake Pads--gone...at 14,600 miles.
Anyways..4 1/2 hours later..new brake pads and I'm running on empty into a full day of work. Nice thing is they did all the work on Warranty so I didn't have to pay a dime.
Our firstborn will be born approx March 10th and she'll be in our home by my Birthday in May or shortly after.
Busy busy weekend...again.
Friday of course was the funeral...we were whipped when we got back. The Weathermen did their usual incredibly accurate forecast (ie it was beautiful out) and for once I appreciated it. Traditional Catholic service with the cool smelling incense. She had a hard time but I did the Supporting Husband job pretty good. Even when its people I really don't know when they do the "We Commit this soul to you...." bit I cry. We were offered a house in Perry as they want to keep it in the family-but it wouldn't be reasonable. We all went out to lunch then...really good food. Spent time with family-I met some new relatives and we drove back.
Saturday-slept in and then went to the house of Suz's good friend L for a wonderful dinner of Lamb + Garlic Potatoes + Garlic Bread + anything else R could put Garlic on. Suz had never had Lamb before...good stuff!!!!
Today went out to Lunch (Breakfast for me) and won $17 on $30 of scratch-offs-not bad I guess. Then came home and taught myself my scanner program (with Fran's help via phone) and watched TV.
Rest in peace my child...
May the person who did this be condemned to everlasting hell..for killing of a child is not repentable!
I've received three emails asking my opinion on the whole Superbowl/Janet thing.
The fact that it actually happened doesn't bug me. I know there are a lot of kids who watch it...I despise the whole hip-hop/cRap thing and I couldn't understand anything except for a few words from Kid Rock.
What disturbs me the most is the lack of accountability....a WARDROBE MALFUNCTION??? Talk about Political Correctness?? Then you get Timberlake whining, "It's not my fault!". They're both wavering between whether it was planned or not planned. Then like a good girl Janet accepted the blame...now she won't present at the Grammy's. Ick...someone needs to wipe off my TV at home. Gotta put it on stands-it's getting deep.
We got a call Monday morning...Suz's uncle Bill died. He had been sick for quite awhile. Per Union rules I'll get Friday off to go to the funeral with her.
The service will be in the big Catholic church in Warsaw where Suz's parents (both deceased) were married. I love big old churches-they have a real sense of beauty and reverence.
I never knew Bill-he was too ill to attend the wedding but Suz always spoke highly of him.
It's the Weekend Update...
Friday morning one of our smoke alarms started chirping-the hard-wired one with battery backup. I checked the Furnace Room..other rooms...stove off...no smoke to be seen/heard. Forgot 'bout it and went to work-let Suz know in the email I send to her from work when I get there. That night she said she put in a new battery...all good right??? BUZZ...it started again after she went to bed. I tried to sleep but ya know that anticipation thing?? If I didn't hear it I anticipated it. Saturday morning she got up at 7:30 and we unplugged it and removed the battery...damn thing has a memory. Eventually it stopped...so now we have a pretty Smoke/CO2 combo.
Saturday I slept in (or rather slept) and then we went to her corporate party. REEEAALLLYY nice party-fancy slinky black dresses abound. Snowed like crazy but only being 3 miles away we could have total white-outs and we'd still go. We both had Chicken Parm followed by Chocolate Mousse cake...nummy.
Sunday went to her nephew's 5th Bday party! Good time but hearing a 55-year old woman talk about gassing her own kids out gets...umm...disturbing. Then she laid one near me--I seriously wanted to blow large chunks.
Football is over...*sniff*. Carolina didn't play badly...it was really a good game methinks. The commercials were disappointing-a few good ones but nothing really stuck out.
