Well we're coming down to the Final Countdown...18 days.
I have had to force myself to turn off my computer and go to bed early to make sure I sleep. Just because you go to bed it doesn't mean you sleep. Frankly, I'm exhausted and at one point Sunday I thought I was going to pass out. After an hour and a 1/2 nap I felt much better.
I'm sure the lack of sleep is wedding jitters but I have little to worry about. Fran-da Best Man-will keep me in line before the wedding and will be in charge of making sure the gifts come back to our house. We got the rings....I'm just all nerves.
Hello friends...things are good.
Mom Update: She is up and walking limited distances. She can now drive herself. Things are much improved.
She and Dad went dress/Tux shopping for the wedding so that's settled.
Our church has approached me about redesigning their website. Considering doing it in Blog format to make posting monthly church goings-ons easier.
Here's his new address:

Brought to you by the Neurotic Fishbowl...
I love Suz because....
...she fixes me lunch every day and never lets me go hungry.
...she has worried as much about my mom's medical issues lately as I have if not more so.
...she taped the Diane Sawyer special on John Ritter last night and I just finished watching it.
What a comic genius...he was so happy with his life having landed on a great TV show. If you can see it-be it on NBC via tape or find it on their website you should. Such loss right now only underlies the happiness that the man gave to others.
It was announced today that the late John Ritter's previous sitcom "8 Simple Rules..." will be continuing. They plan to deal with his death right in the show...that's going to be tough to watch...
Well the Bills put aside another would-be team...(snicker). My Fantasy RB is Travis Henry of the Bills...5 TD's in 2 games..not bad.
Any further help on slimming down the blog would still be appreciated.
In other thoughts, I have applied to get involved in a task force where citizens can give tickets for people illegally parked in Handicapped spaces. I should hear shortly. As long as I'm not required to show in Traffic Court I'll do it. My work schedule wouldn't allow time off for it.
Suz had a blast on her camping trip...she brought home Dark Chocolate Cake with Dark Chocolate Frosting...nummy.
Hello friends....Suz is gone camping for the weekend-I miss her.
Went and bought a beautiful leather couch with my parents as our wedding present from them. Big...kooshy....and mmm....leather. Will be delivered in 6-12 weeks.
Its funny...I was always raised to believe that no matter if you wrote or spoke the words, you are responsible for them. Yet when people post comments on a site, they don't seem to accept that it's open-season (and not only for nasty posts-which are unfortunate but it happens-but also for thoughtful questioning posts). And if they post it using a business URL and you reply in a Contact Form on that URL-it's wrong? What am I missing here? Comments welcome...
Anyways...an issue for the past few weeks is over..dead & gone. I am sure I am being abused in another blog-but so what. People who have taken the time to listen to both sides will realize both sides share some fault although majority truly is mine. Those in glass houses should not throw stones, no matter how small they may be.
Today we said goodbye to Johnny Cash & John Ritter. Both equally talented in the mediums of expression that they chose....both equally loved.
I've seen probably every movie/TV show John Ritter made and his comedic approach was amazing. This most recent show, "8 Simple Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter" was one of the best shows in ages...
Suz got me into Johnny Cash being the country buff she is. I love "A Boy Named Sue"...
Both will be missed.
We mourn as a country....we mourn as friends and family...we mourn in the silent moments of our heart...
Well it's Monday...my head is still at a dull roar although it's nicely reduced. Going to the Dentist before work didn't help-broke a filling-to be fixed the week before the wedding since I have the time off.
Well I survived the bachelor party...I think...maybe. I'm not going to reveal too much as I'll let Fran have that privilege when he comes back online in Philly..with pictures.
Went to Hooters 'bout 7:30 and ate and started with a tank of Killians-thing was huge (prob equal to 2 beers). Had two of those and got thoroughly embarrassed by the Hooters girls!
Then my brother decided we needed to do shots so we went to the bar near work named Tully's since I know everyone there and it was close. I had originally intended to do 1 shot of Szambuka and that'd settle me for the night. Fran gave me a Penis-shaped shot glass as a Gag gift-but it actually held about 3 shots so by the end of the night in addition to the beers, I'd had probably equivalent to 5 or 6 shots (2-3 of Szambuka and my brother insisted on Tequila). Trust me I drank tons of water too..
At one point at Tully's I decided it was time for Projectile Vomiting Session #1-I ran for the bathroom-in my drunken blur I rode right out the Emergency Door, my front wheels of my wheelchair dropped off the step and I slid out of my chair and onto my ass. When I realized what was up I pushed my chair back all the way inside and then couldn't get back in. The guys saw me and put me back in at which point I made it to the bathroom and yakked (left nothing on the seat, thank you).
After that the night is a blur. Apparently I was a babbling fool when Fran dropped me off. I yakked 4 more times between 1am-8:30am and finally woke up at 1pm feeling not-so-human.
All in all it was a good time. I didn't make an ass out of myself (at least I don't think so) and noone got hurt or alcohol-poisoned.
Fran of the Fran Clan is moving Monday...his URL will change but it will be back...as requested here's the post he requested I put up here for him...
"Well - we are moving after this weekend to our new city.
For those that have a link here, it will change next week. The machine is located here in my apartment on my cable modem connected network, and linked to by my home page on my ISP. I suggest you save a link to the Blurf Blog in the meantime - Pete will have the new link up as soon as I know what it will be. For those of you that link from Pete, you'll read about it there first... :)
Pete - it will probably be a good idea to copy/paste the above paragraph as a mention on your blog.
As for this weekend - It'll be packed full of miscellaneous BS. Tomorrow morning I will be helping my dad pour some concrete for his new garage. Tomorrow afternoon I'll be sleeping in preparation for tomorrow night - Pete's Bachelor Party. He has no clue what I'm going to do, which is just the way I like it. heheheheh. Sunday I'll be sleeping, then working overnight. My firewall will be turned off monday morning at 7 am (est) and the cable modem will be turned in.
As an incentive for y'all to return after the move is done - I will return with pictures of tomorrow night's festivities at Hooters.
You dare not miss it. I'm betting it will be good."
It's Friday Five time!!!
1. What housekeeping chore(s) do you hate doing the most?
Bathroom..toilet.
2. Are there any that you like or don't mind doing?
Dusting. I can vaccuum if the cords don't get tangled up in my wheelchair.
3. Do you have a routine throughout the week or just clean as it's needed?
I pick up here and there...sometimes I'll go on a spurt and throw out papers, etc. Suz cleans every other friday
4. Do you have any odd cleaning/housekeeping quirks or rules?
Nope
5. What was the last thing you cleaned?
Threw out some old Ebay Confirmation Delivery slips
The Bills have signed themselves a Lawyer-just in time to face the Patriots Sunday!!! Man is this looking like a good season!
On a day when you know the customer queue will be sky-high and everyone and their neighbor will probably be really pissy....best way to make it easier...
Happy sigh....Happy Tuesday all!
When I went out to Salt Lake City to visit my brother back in my college days, I had the pleasure of spending some time with his wife's family. His wife Liz simply rocks-love her to death. Good Mormon people-awesome cooks...but a little naive nonetheless.
When we went to her Mom's house for dinner I hopped on the ground (I don't drive my wheelchair on white rugs), the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon was on. Her mother said, "We're watching all your little friends on TV." Without missing a beat, Liz thought to step outside for a moment to let me ponder my response.
I respect the MDA a great deal. Their goal is sincere & rewardable-to eradicate these diseases. I was a camper of and worked at a camp for a number of years that had a MDA week dedicated specifically to kids with various neuromuscular diseases. These diseases are brutal-especially when you watch kids slowly lose their ability to do basic skills like self-care and even toileting.
However I think that the approach is wrong and it is very disturbing to me. They use the "Awww look at the poor little kid" pity routine. Why not look at the successes that the treatments have allowed the kids to do? Show a previously wheelchair-bound kid walking, swimming or even playing a sport.
However, the fun, loving Jerry Lewis is no longer there-he is no longer inspiring-he is merely a presence-no matter how symbolic he is to the organization. He is a sick, bloated (from steroids), elderly man. I've talked to kids who have been on the show in the past 2 years who say he scared them.
I met Jerry Lewis here NY when he came to town to star in the Broadway show Damn Yankees. He came down to the Auditorium Theater Diner an hour before the show for a snack before showtime. In his robe and knee-highs. He was courteous when I approached him for an autograph which he did for me. The poster is framed at home. After this his health has hit the tubes.
But I think, Jerry, it is time for you to retire. Staying up for 24 hours for your show is no longer a positive for you-you look weak. Bring on a famous younger person to take over, and then you do a few spots on the show-maybe remote from your home. Either way a fresh face needs to come on board.
