OMFG...it's Monday-no doubt...
Our office is in a little plaza-there's a Deli about 5 stores down...I go down every workday on my 5pm break to buy a bottle of Lemonade.
There's a guy and his son sitting on the walkaway against a post relaxing...no biggie. Said Hi..nice enough guy.
Bought my Nantucket Nectars Authentic Lemonade-good stuff! Come out and the little boy (2 yrs old-maybe 3) has dropped trou and is butt-naked peeing DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE DELI DOOR...AND NOW ON MY WHEELCHAIR'S FRONT RIGHT WHEEL! I see the father a few posts down the walkway totally engrossed in a book-I stop and say, "Are you aware your son is peeing in front of the deli's door?"
His response...an overwhelming...."HUH?"
I pointed at his son and he goes, "Oh My God Dooley you can't be doing that! Get your drink and get back here!" No attempt to clean up the puddle-no attempt to clean up my chair...nothing...
God-damned rednecks...to borrow a phrase from Christine-probably a growing junior member of the Future Felons of America. Dad is probably a charter member.
A busy but nice weekend...
Sat around yesterday and hung out...we have my brother's dog Maxine (henceforth known as Stinkydog) with us. She is a bit calmer this time around but she got me in the chin when we were playing...no marks but I had to look in the mirror to be sure.
In other news, Fran's 5 year old daughter Erin beat Fran and Suzette in bowling Saturday afternoon with a 139 and I got a 149. Not bad...this kid is gonna be a prodigy.
So here's the deal...my parents, my Aunt Sue/Uncle Greg and my oldest brother Steve and his wife are going to France for 2 1/2 weeks this Thursday. Of these couples, all 3 females are hurt/injured in some way. Mom has what is called a "deep muscle pull" that is just not settling down, Aunt Sue took a dive between her dock and the boat and is now wearing an air boot for leg swelling, and my sis-in-law Liz has a Bulging Disc. Apparently Liz has been taking it easy, my Aunt Sue has been taking pain meds and going dancing so they're ok..but I suggested they take one of my manual wheelchairs for Mom. Dad says Paris is a "city for walking". Does anyone else agree that this trip is probably a bad idea?? *sigh*
More Ebay stuff has gone up...more Disney stuff...an adorable tiny little bear with a friend and a ISA card for a computer. Enjoy!
Well I bought us a present off of Ebay...the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. You HAVE to buy it!!!
These 4, lead by Jeff Foxworthy are just drop-dead hilarious! I swear my brother's dog let out a smile...I'm jealous the Fran Clan saw them live!
Other than that I uninstalled the piece of garbage I mistook for a dependable firewall called Zonealarm. Wanted to protect myself when I'm playing Everquest. I've had some bad experiences with it with users but figured I'd try....Fatal Exception errors on Startup are not what I consider fun. So buh-bye...
Its a damp Wednesday afternoon in Upstate NY so I've done what any other cold-blooded, work-overwhelmed person would do-I'm going home at 1/2-time. Yes, I've taken a half day.
Its been raining for 3 days, and with us getting Stinkypuppy (brother's dog) for a week I need a 1/2 day to chill out and get some Ebay packages ready to go.
So the guy writes into Support Mail with his traceroutes...and I am on Support Mail tonight 7pm-midnight (hey I'm off the phone-it's not a problem).
Read his traceroutes and the drops he's getting are OFF OUR NETWORK! So I got to write him and tell him basically he proved me right...(snicker). Gotta love it!
In other work-related news, I won't be blogging much during the workday anymore. They've come out with a new policy...Work-related sites only. People are already blowing it off but I wanna see if they get in trouble before I do.
Fun call:
Me: Thank you for calling Yackety-Schmackety Internet Help Desk. My name is Pete.
LUser: You have a browsing issue in Minnesota. Report it & fix it.
Me: Sir-I just dialed into Apple Valley 10 mins ago and browsed fine (which was the truth BTW)
LUser: I didn't ask for your opinion. This is a high-level issue where Google "dissapears" for 6 weeks at a time...blah blah blah
Me: Sir-I'm sorry-we don't have an issue out there-I've tested the area.
LUser: You're useless-give me a Manager.
My Manager talked to him-told him to send proof to our email support system. This was last night at 9pm...nothing has come in yet.
No Monday Mission today so a little objective thought from me.
I forgot the big doings Sunday-I got Suz and I each 1-hour full body massages from a friend of mine. He is extremely good and while Suz was nervous being her first time, she loved it.
I will be guest-blogging next week on The Passioniate Ailurophile while Christine is hobknobbing on vacation. No idea which day/days but I'll show up..:) I'll also be doing the MeMe for This-or-that Tuesday a week from tmrw...
While we were watching Finding Nemo on Saturday, this kid-maybe 17 years old (with his parents) came into the theater. Now I hop up to a row in the theater and grab myself a good seat and Suz will detach the power cable. Upon seeing my wheelchair he starts playing with the joystick! His parents (maybe grandparents)...nothing..nada...zilch.
Suz says loud enuff for him to hear, "Excuse me..." He ignores her-finally I'd had it and I sat up and leaned forward on the chair in front of me and said, "STEP AWAY FROM THE WHEELCHAIR". He looks up at me with absolute shock and says totally deadpan, "I'm sorry." The impetus for me to reach out and trip him on his way up the stairs was incredibly tempting and within reach but I restrained myself due to the fact we had Suz's 6-year old niece Kate. However when Kate said (fairly loud), "He has no manners!"-I figured that summed it all up.
Stupid fucking kids...somedays folks...some folks..
It was a really good weekend.
Suz & I took her 6 yr old niece Katie (actually her best friend's daughter) to see Finding Nemo. Good movie--not all kid stuff either. Lots of inlaid jokes for the big kids to catch.
Today we hit church and Mom's and finalized our wedding guest list-HUZZAH! 186 people--should be a fun party! Mom & Dad told us today they're buying us a new Leathercouch as a wedding present!!!
New stuff on Ebay-please look.
Suz and I can now admit it -we are hooked on Sex & the City...last season too. Hmmm...
Just another thought here...some sites have made reference to some drana in the blogosphere as of late.
My position...I really don't care what people say on my blog. I truly appreciate those of you who read my blog and hope I've managed to entertain and even offer some unique points of view on matters of the day. If I've stirred some emotions and even given you motivation then I've done my job.
I always maintain the right to delete any obscene/downright-mean comments and have done so.
I do plan to delve deeply into some more issues in the future...been doing a lot of private ruminating lately.
I merely present myself and my life for your perusal. Please feel free to respond/comment.
By the time I went home last night I was alternating having hot flashes and cold sweats. Finished a couple Ebay shipments and took Nyquil. Didn't sleep much between 2-6 but when Suz went to work I crashed good until noon or so.
Anyone else discover that you wake up more during the night as you get older? Not necessarily to pee, but just rolling over-looking at the clock-and going back to sleep? My mother has slept that way for years. My Dad-when he hits the pillow-5 minutes later-out and down for the count.
Here's a disturbing article from the "Those That Should Not Be Allowed to Breed or Be a Parent" category....let her fry...

The weekend finished up on a good note. We met with a woman who wants me to sell her stuff on Ebay and my brother's girlfriend gave me a load of home-designed jewelry to sell.
Please take a look at the current offerings. I may take a brief break if all this stuff sells but who knows.
This is the time of the year that I love but I dread it for two reasons...well really one and its associated partner-Thuderstorms and power outages.
Upstate NY really isn't known for rolling brownouts or anything like that. Tonight I'm playing EQ trying to catch up with Fran. The power blinked...usually not a big issue. I have 2 Belkin and 1 APC Power supply. Well Suz's computer had time left for me to shut it down properly. Mine-died..twice. So I come back up in the BIOS-not good.
A quick powercycle on all worked but WTF is up with the Belkin's??? They're 4 years old-I think a replacement is due. I just shelled out $1300 for my AMEX bill (mostly wedding stuff)-time to load up 1 new $300+ UPS this month and another next...(sigh).
In other news, Friday's party at my brother's house rocked...trampoline...swimming...fireworks..food..beer. All in all a good time-especially watching Suz riding on a 4 wheel ATV chasing my niece and her friend on their ATV's. Not really too sore now but waking up I was.
I'm also putting a bunch more stuff on Ebay tmrw. An old neighbor from growing up asked me to sell some pewter animal figurines (old Franklin Mint stuff) but she is such a old batty bitch this will be it. She probably won't even get what she wants and will be pissy with me but I'll take a loss if I have to.
A woman from a nearby town is driving in to drop off a box of Disney collectibles-including a Leather Bomber with Disney characters on it..going to do the little stuff first tho. Establish some trust here.
Been a good weekend overall...
Tried to login to the blog and got SQL errors...then a little while later it lets me in. No clue...whassup with that?
Came home last night to 2 dozen ants in the front hall of our home. Insta-kill on everything I saw that moved for an hour before I went and played EQ.
A quick Shout out to my little niece Erin who is sick on a bad week to be sick...with the holiday. Recent Uncle-ish discovery: 2-year olds do not like to stay still and rest.
Our office is closing for the holiday so we get a 3-day weekend. Boy do I need it...I think I have a definite case of burnout. I love my job, I'm good at it and I don't see myself doing anything else--but I'm taking bad users much harder lately.
