July 10, 2003By the time I went home last night I was alternating having hot flashes and cold sweats. Finished a couple Ebay shipments and took Nyquil. Didn't sleep much between 2-6 but when Suz went to work I crashed good until noon or so.
Anyone else discover that you wake up more during the night as you get older? Not necessarily to pee, but just rolling over-looking at the clock-and going back to sleep? My mother has slept that way for years. My Dad-when he hits the pillow-5 minutes later-out and down for the count.
Here's a disturbing article from the "Those That Should Not Be Allowed to Breed or Be a Parent" category....let her fry...

The foster care system is supposed to be there to PROTECT children from abusive parents, or those who can't care for them properly.
In my opinion, having a child should be a CHOICE...and when one makes that choice, they should be prepared for the fact that the child may not be born perfectly healthy. I know that this can happen even with the best of pre-natal care. If people can't accept this fact, they should not breed. Period.
Mike and I know that we would be lousy parents, as we don't like the way that other people raise kids these days...too permissive, the kids rule the house, etc. So we made the choice to never have any...Mike had a vasectomy a few years ago.
But when he approached his doctor about getting it...he refused to give the referral at first, because he was afraid that we would "change our minds". It took a lot of talking, but he finally got the referral. Ahhh...the joys of managed health care! I'd dump this HMO in a heartbeat, but it's the only thing that Mike's work offers. We can't be without health insurance mainly because of his diabetes.
I think that if it were easier for people to get sterilized, and for teens to get birth control, there would be a lot less of this kind of child abuse going on. Children should only be born to people who want and plan for them.
